The recognition was created to draw attention to successful businesswomen in North Dakota, South Dakota and western Minnesota. It is an annual feature of the magazine, and inclusion is considered a prestigious honor in the region’s business community.

Prairie Business magazine covers a variety of business topics, including higher education, finance, architecture and engineering, agribusiness, energy, health care, economic development, tourism, technology and construction.
