Eric Mazur, internationally known physicist, educational innovator and Harvard professor, is set to visit NDSU. He is scheduled to present “Innovating Education to Educate Innovators” on Wednesday, April 5, from 2-3 p.m. at NDSU’s Century Theater in the Memorial Union.

Mazur is known for his work in peer instruction, an interactive teaching method aimed at engaging students in the classroom. He plans to show how focusing in class on questioning and promoting social interaction leads to deeper learning and independent thinking. Mazur also will present a new approach to encourage every student to prepare for every class using a combination of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation factors.

The event will bring together NDSU students, faculty, staff and area colleges, universities, elementary and high schools and businesses.

NDSU’s Office of Teaching and Learning and Information Technology division are the event sponsors.
