Student-run restaurant to serve 'island getaway' lunch

NDSU’s 800 Café is scheduled to serve an “Island Getaway” lunch. The meal is set for Thursday, April 6, and Friday, April 7, in the Food Production Complex on the third floor of the Katherine K. Burgum Family Life Center. Seating will be from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

The menu for the meal includes:

·      Salted tortilla chips and fresh chopped salsa

·      Baja fish tacos with lime guacamole and cabbage slaw

·      Black bean salad

·      Tropical minted fruit salad served with warm cinnamon pita chips 

Dietetics students Gabby Hartze and Bre Hogie will manage the meal with the help of their classmates.

The cost is $10 per person and includes beverages. Four-meal punch cards are available for $35. Cash or check are acceptable forms of payment.

Walk-ins are welcomed, but reservations are preferred due to limited seating. The café is open to the public and parking is available in NDSU’s visitor lot.

The 800 Café is operated by NDSU dietetic students and will be open for lunch on Thursdays and Fridays through May 5. Sherri Nordstrom Stastny, associate professor of health, nutrition and exercise sciences, is the class instructor.
