NDSU was fifth in the National Wrestling Coaches Association Top 30 All-Academic team standings announced April 18. NDSU 157-pound junior Clay Ream headlined the 135-member NWCA All-Academic team for the third straight season.

Ream was the NCAA Elite 90 Award recipient for the second straight year. The award recognizes the student-athlete with the highest GPA at the championship site. The native of Wentzville, Missouri., has a 4.0 GPA in biochemistry and molecular biology.

Collectively, NDSU had a 3.396 grade point average. The team GPA was determined using a system that includes 12 student-athletes from each program. A total of 10 of these came from the wrestlers that were entries in the NCAA tournament conference qualifier.

The Bison followed Harvard (3.586 GPA), Brown (3.475), American (3.466) and Kent State (3.423) in the team standings.
