Registrar publishes graduation book chapter

Rhonda Kitch, NDSU registrar, contributed a chapter to the recently published “AACRAO Guide to Graduation Ceremonies” by the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers.

The guide outlines how to design a ceremony, including logistical arrangements, commencement programs, diplomas, regalia and academic honors. In addition, it contains comprehensive information on early commencement, graduate ceremonies, serving veterans and other scenarios.

Kitch contributed a book chapter on honorary and posthumous degrees. The publication is one of the organization’s most popular publications and is a valuable resource for persons involved in planning and executing a graduation ceremony.

“Commencement is a momentous occasion for students as it marks a crucial milestone in their professional and personal lives,” Kitch said. “Administrators go to great lengths to prepare for and execute a memorable graduation ceremony for the graduates, their families and their friends.”
