NDSU to offer video game design workshop

SHARE

NDSU will offer a PODS Game Design video game design workshop for students in grades 7-12, scheduled for Aug. 14-18, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Minard Hall room 319.

The workshop will be led by Dave Binkard, owner of PODS Game Design, in collaboration with the Red River Valley Writing Project at NDSU.

Students will learn to write their game’s story, design characters and construct a cyber world, as they build an original game to be entered in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards competition.

“We expect that students will finish the class with a much stronger understanding of the work that goes into creating a video game. After this class, our students will have developed their skills in making a functional plot, designing their characters and graphics, and the programming necessary to make it all work,” Binkard said.

The cost of the workshop is $175. To register, click here.
