SHARE

The NDSU physics department has scheduled a safe solar eclipse viewing for the NDSU community using 50 certified “eclipse glasses” purchased for the event.

The viewing is set for Monday, Aug. 21, from 11:45 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the south entrance of the South Engineering building. The partial solar eclipse should reach a maximum of about 80 percent in Fargo-Moorhead around 1 p.m.

Physics faculty and students also will be present to answer questions about the significance of the eclipse. The event is free and open to the public. Paid parking is available in Visitors Lot E or the Memorial Union lot.
