NDSU Bookstore director named, reception planned

Kim Anvinson, has been named director of the NDSU Bookstore. She had been serving as interim director the past five months.

A reception to welcome Anvinson is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 25, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the front of the store. Cake and coffee will be served.

“Kim has extensive higher education bookstore experience not only at NDSU, but also previously at many other institutions,” said Bruce Bollinger, vice president for finance and administration. “I believe she will do a great job in this role.”

Anvinson has been with the NDSU Bookstore since 2008. She previously was the general manager of Barnes and Noble College Bookstores in North Dakota, Minnesota, South Dakota and California and was a book buyer and supervisor for Hobbies and Books, Cayman Islands.

In 2014 and 2015, she was chairperson of the National Association of College Stores’ College Store Operations Council and president of the Tri-State College Bookstore Association.

Anvinson earned her bachelor’s degree in business education from the University of North Dakota.
