Visiting artist to give presentation

The NDSU Department of Visual Arts is set to host a public lecture from visiting artist Nelson Chan on Thursday, Nov. 2, at 3 p.m. on the fifth floor of Renaissance Hall. Chan is a photographer, co-founder of TIS books and press manager at Aperture.

Chan is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a graduate of the University of Hartford, Hartford Art School, where he earned his Master of Fine Arts. He is a co-founder of Brooklyn-based TIS books, an art book publishing house that concentrates on small edition photobooks. He has worked at Pratt Institute, New York; Salt Center for Documentary Studies, Portland, Maine; and as a visiting critic at Rhode Island School of Design.
