NDSU’s Gamma Tau Chapter of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers-Eta Kappa Nu has been named an Outstanding Chapter Award winner by the organization’s board of governors.
The award is presented annually in recognition of excellence of a chapter’s activities, community service and outreach, and the impact they have on their department and university. Of major interest to the committee in judging a chapter are activities to improve professional development, to raise instructional and institutional standards, and to encourage scholarship and creativity.
The Gamma Tau Chapter at NDSU is one of 27 selected for outstanding performance in 2018. The award will be presented at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department Heads Association annual conference, scheduled for March 25 in Tucson, Arizona.
Eta Kappa Nu, or HKN, is the academic honor society of IEEE. Members must demonstrate excellence in academics, character and attitude. They also challenge themselves to achieve, assist their peers and serve the community.
NDSU’s chapter was re-established in 2015 after a 20-year dormancy.
