NDSU students receive Phi Kappa Phi Scholarships

The NDSU chapter of Phi Kappa Phi has awarded academic scholarships to several Phi Kappa Phi student members. The scholarships, totaling $5,150, are made possible through gifts by John A. Callenbach and Carolyn Nelson.

Daniel Ingebretson, a junior mathematics major from Glyndon, Minn.; Ashley Martell, a junior architecture major from Aberdeen, S.D.; and Samantha Steffan, a senior music major from Dickinson, N.D., each received the Carolyn Nelson Phi Kappa Phi scholarship of $1,000.

Duane Bierman, a graduate student in music from Fargo; Natasha Petry, a professional year two pharmacy student from Fargo; Zachary Fowler, a senior zoology major from Minot, N.D.; and Jennifer Naaden, a senior political science major from Braddock, N.D., each received a John A. Callenbach Memorial Scholarship ranging from $400 to $750.

Phi Kappa Phi is America’s oldest and most selective honor society embracing all academic disciplines. It has chapters on more than 300 campuses. The NDSU chapter was chartered in 1913.
