NDSU welcomes new students

SHARE

NDSU President Dean L. Bresciani, Lt. Gov. Jack Dalrymple, Student Body President Kevin Black, and one very special student led hundreds of first year students through the front gates of campus at 11 a.m. this morning as a part of the Welcome Day ceremony.

The student was April Schmitz of Bismarck, ND who is majoring in equine studies. Schmitz was the first student who applied and was admitted to NDSU for the fall semester.

The students walked through the gates to the sounds of NDSU’s Gold Star Marching Band — 220 strong this year.

Welcome ceremonies included short speeches by President Bresciani, Lt. Gov. Dalrymple, and Black. A free picnic lunch followed. First day enrollment numbers will be released on Wednesday.
