Fall at NDSU: soaking up the season

SHARE

Fall semester is truly something special at NDSU. The student energy and unique events liven up campus and bring everyone back together after summer.

There is plenty to do around campus now that classes are back in session. The school spirit surrounding our successful athletics teams, welcoming community and fresh fall air are a few things we love this time of year.

With that in mind, here are a few things to enjoy at NDSU this fall:

Homecoming Parade and Homecoming Show

You don’t want to miss the events during Homecoming week. All of the organizations on campus get involved, alumni come back to celebrate and the entire community is energized. Enjoy events such as the BBQ and pep fest, homecoming show, a Friday evening parade through campus and football game on Saturday. The week is filled with events for everyone.

Bison football games

There is nothing like a Bison football game day in Fargo. “I felt an instant connection and Fargo immediately felt like home,” said senior Careene Madrid of her campus tour before she applied at NDSU. Madrid said she loved the positive energy surrounding the entire community in spirit of NDSU. Click to view the football schedule and attend the next home game.

Bison Pride Friday

Show your school spirit every Friday by wearing your NDSU gear. You’ll find people on and off campus participating in this fun tradition. Bison pride is everywhere in Fargo.

Stop by Memorial Union each Friday outside of the Student Government office for free snacks, coupons, unique giveaways and games. If there’s a home football game that week, the NDSU Bookstore participates with Fan Friday featuring large storewide discounts.

Free Events

Campus Attractions at NDSU each month hosts free events on campus, including hypnotists, concerts, speakers, late night entertainment and movies. “Definitely take advantage of the free things NDSU has on campus for us students,” Madrid said. “Especially CA’s free events, they’re awesome.” Check out some of the fall-themed events coming up, such as the Halloween Bash and the Haunted House.

Campus energy

You just can’t beat the beauty and energy on campus in the fall. You’ll find students biking and longboarding everywhere, playing yard games between classes and relaxing in the sun to unwind. Grab lunch from the Food Court at the Memorial Union and head outside to enjoy and relax in the fresh air. Once the trees begin to change colors, you’ll be grabbing your phone to snap a photo every time you stroll outside. Don’t forget to tag us on Instagram.
