10 foods to sample at NDSU

SHARE

From scenery to school spirit, there are so many things to love about the NDSU campus. Over the last several months, we’ve made some big changes to enhance student life on campus in other ways.

The West Dining Center has been fully remodeled, all dining menus have been expanded and a new taco shop opened at the Memorial Union.

Now, more than ever, NDSU Dining provides innovative, nutritional and high-quality dining experiences on campus. You won’t have a problem finding something unique to eat on campus.

With that in mind, NDSU has a few drinks, foods and and specialty treats that every Bison should enjoy.

Here are 10 NDSU Dining specialties that you need to experience this year:

1. Oreo Cookie Salad (aka Cookie Fluff)

Find this at any of NDSU dining centers. You aren’t a true Bison until you have it, trust us. Check out the dining menus each week to make sure you don’t miss it.

2. Woodstone Pizza

Pizza crust made from scratch right in from of you, then fired in our wood stone pizza oven. The best pizza in the area.

3. West Dining Center Smoothies

The DIY Smoothie Bar is a brand-new addition to the West Dining Center, and we can’t get enough of it. Smoothies are made with fresh fruit, superfoods and no artificial ingredients. The most refreshing breakfast on campus. Create your own and enjoy on the go.

4. Twisted Taco Avocado Taco

If you haven’t already, you need to try Twisted Taco in the lower level of Memorial Union. The shop opened this summer with more than 20 taco flavors to try. Vegetarian or not, the fried avocado taco is perfect.

5. The Jalapeno Burger from Burgers @ the U

Find this mouth-watering dinner (or lunch) at Burgers @ the U in the lower level of Memorial Union. Spice up your life and give it a try. With a side of fries, of course.

6. Chicken Tortilla Soup

NDSU Coffee Shops know the secret to the best soups for each season. The chicken tortilla soup is unbeatable. Topped with cheese and tortillas, it’s a soup lover’s dream.

7. Edible Cookie Dough

Find this irresistible treat at any of the dining centers. Try it alone or enjoy with ice cream. This will definitely satisfy your sweet tooth any day of the week.

8. NDSU Dining Center Theme Nights

With theme nights like Thanksgiving Dinner and Late-Night Breakfast, you’ll talk about these nights long after you graduate. Did someone say home-cooked eggs and bacon at midnight? Yes, please.

9. Caramel Macchiato

Stop by any of NDSU’s five coffee shops to sip on one of these warm delights. Using Seattle’s Best Coffee, this is the best caramel macchiato you will ever have. Now that it’s October, the coffee shops just released a pumpkin themed menu. Baked goods, warm drinks and all of the cozy inspired treats. Your next study session just got a whole lot sweeter.

10. Sandy’s Donuts

On campus? You bet. Voted best donuts in North Dakota year-after-year are now served at all NDSU Coffee Shops
