Little Country Theatre presents ‘Tales of the Lost Formicans’

The NDSU Little Country Theatre completes the season with “Tales of the Lost Formicans,” a dark comedy about a Midwestern family struggling to find themselves while being observed by aliens.

The story centers on Evelyn and Jim McKissick, an aging couple slowing recognizing the onset of Jim's Alzheimer's-induced dementia. Their daughter, Cathy, recently has moved home following a particularly bitter divorce. Her angry teenage son and conspiracy-crazed neighbor complete the set of quirky characters. At the heart of each character's suffering is a sense of being lost – physically, psychically, spiritually and emotionally – and the watchful eyes of aliens from outer space frame their stories.

Final performances of “Tales of the Lost Formicans” are scheduled April 28-30 in Askanase Auditorium. Show times are 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. Tickets are $12 for adults; $10 for seniors, NDSU faculty, staff and alumni; $10 for non-NDSU students; and $5 for NDSU students. The show is intended for mature audiences.

Tickets are available at the Fine Arts Box Office at 1-7969, ndsu.fine.arts@ndsu.edu, or Music Education room 115. More information is available at www.ndsu.edu/finearts. Watch the trailer at youtu.be/tJTBR7a_csk.
