Celebration of Excellence to be held via Zoom

NDSU’s annual Celebration of Excellence event will be held online this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The recognition for faculty and staff is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 1, from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. through Zoom.

Faculty and staff were emailed the Zoom link and information in an earlier campus message.

The 2020 award recipients and faculty who received promotion and/or tenure will be recognized by Interim Provost Margaret Fitzgerald and President Dean L. Bresciani.

“The quality of the contributions made by our faculty is impressive,” said Canan Bilen-Green, vice provost for faculty affairs and equity. “Their recognition and promotion reflect culmination of many years of hard work, contribution to their discipline, and dedication to the success of their students.”

The following faculty will be recognized as award recipients:

• Ben Balas, associate professor of psychology, Peltier Award for Teaching Innovation

• Nicholas Bauroth, professor of political science, Chamber of Commerce NDSU Distinguished Faculty Service Award

• Stephenson Beck, associate professor of communication and department chair/head, Phi Kappa Phi Faculty Lectureship Award

• Joel Caton, professor of animal sciences, Waldron Research Award

• Dinesh Katti, professor of civil and environmental engineering, Faculty Lectureship Award

• Jenny Linker, associate professor of health, nutrition and exercise sciences, Peltier Award for Teaching Innovation
