There are many fun things to do in Fargo-Moorhead for NDSU students who stay on campus during the holiday break.

As Thanksgiving is approaching, we encourage you to stay in Fargo over the break. There are many great activities to enjoy in the area. NDSU’s residence halls will be open and NDSU Dining will be expanding its weekend options on campus for you.

Pick up a Thanksgiving treat

Pick up an entire Thanksgiving dinner from Granite City, featuring turkey, sweet potatoes, stuffing, pie and more. Or buy a pumpkin pie, cranberry almond tart or festive cookie from  Nichole’s Fine Pastry. Order a charcuterie board from Luna for you and your roommate. Check out these uniquely local businesses to get a bite to eat or a cozy sip this weekend.

Go for an afternoon hike

Take a break from social media and head outside. Buffalo River State Park keeps its hiking trails open in the fall and winter. Prairie View Trail, a 2.2-mile loop near the edge of the park, has terrific views of wildlife and is one of Minnesota’s largest prairie preserves. Or check out some of the area’s local parks.

Have a Thanksgiving feast on campus

The West Dining Center will host a delicious Thanksgiving meal on Thursday, Nov. 26 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The menu will include sweet potato casserole, stuffing, green beans, turkey, mashed potatoes, dinner rolls and more. Find all of your Thanksgiving favorites as well as an allergy-friendly meal at the Clean Eats station.
