The NDSU Main Library has reservable study rooms, quiet study zones, group project workspaces, computer clusters and printers.

NDSU Libraries provide an extensive support system with a variety of spaces, resources and services throughout campus, creating a vibrant learning community and facilitating student success.

The NDSU Main Library has reservable study rooms, quiet study zones, group project workspaces, computer clusters and printers. Staff at the reference and circulation desks can help with any questions. NDSU librarians provide instruction, online tutorials and one-on-one support to help students develop their research skills. You can book an appointment with your librarian or chat with a librarian online.

Other services in the Main Library are the Digital Fabrication Lab, a space for students to design and create prototypes and projects using 3D printing, laser engraving and hand tools along with staff to provide training; the Presentation Studio, which allows students to record high-quality audio and video presentations; and virtual reality labs, which allow students to learn using an interactive virtual environment.

These resources and services are available to all NDSU students, faculty and staff. The Main Library is open until midnight most days, and 24 hours, seven days a week during the last two weeks of each semester to allow for extra study time and de-stress activities. Throughout the academic year, the Libraries host a variety of events, which can be found on their event calendar.

Also housed in the Main Library are the Math Emporium, Center for Writers and Disability Services. Other NDSU branch Libraries provide specialized resources for students in specific majors including the Klai Juba Wald Architectural Studies Library, the Health Sciences Library and the Business Learning Center. The NDSU Special Collections consists of the NDSU Archives and the Germans from Russia Heritage Collection.

“NDSU Libraries’ role has become even more pivotal and distinctive during the pandemic as we have enhanced our position in promoting equity, diversity and inclusion through diversification of our collection and practicing allyship within the NDSU community,” said Joe Mocnik, Dean of Libraries. “Our efforts to promote open access have helped the process of equalization that ensures academic information is easily discoverable and accessible for all. I encourage you to visit one of our locations or engage with us online to learn more about our array of services and resources.”

Visit the NDSU Libraries website to learn more about how they can enhance your learning experience.
