The Wallman Wellness Center offers everything from the latest fitness equipment and classes to innovative recreation, intramural and aquatic programming.

The health and wellness of students is a top priority at NDSU, and that’s the focus of the state-of-the-art Wellness Center. The facility offers everything from the latest fitness equipment and classes to innovative recreation, intramural and aquatic programming. You’ll find an activity no matter what your interest.

“The Wellness Center is a great place to go for a healthy daily routine,” said Garrett Hodenfield, a third-year landscape architecture student from Ray, North Dakota. “The center is a very clean, organized and is spatially sound for students to exercise at their own pace. It’s a wonderful place that helps create an opportunity for you to better yourself inside and out.”

Located within walking distance on campus, you can strength train, participate in group fitness classes, rock climb, swim or relax in the hot tub next to the indoor fire pit.

“I use the Wellness Center not only to work out, but to get involved on campus. It’s terrific – I've gotten to know so many people and stay healthy during my college career,” said Kalaina Verdick, a senior majoring in social work and human development and family science from Coon Rapids, Minnesota.

In addition, the Wellness Center offers a high quality and affordable childcare service and education program, and also is home to the Student Health Service.

“Our vision is to be a destination that inspires healthy lifestyles,” said Jobey Lichtblau, Wellness Center director. “We promote a culture of life-long wellness by developing innovative programs and services for the NDSU community.”

A variety of fun, new opportunities are being offered, including Fitness Challenge, Floaty Night, Canoe Battleship, Esports tournament, kickball and women’s virtual strength training. A complete list of programs is available online.

Due to COVID-19, the Wellness Center developed an extensive operational plan that gives guidelines to provide the safest environment possible.
