Longtime NDSU faculty member John Monzingo died April 15 at the age of 86. He lived in Fargo.
Monzingo, an emeritus professor of political science, grew up in Compton, California. He earned his doctorate at Claremont Graduate School and joined the NDSU political science department in 1970.
During his 33 years at NDSU, he was instrumental in establishing the Tri-College chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha and served as faculty adviser for 25 years. The John Monzingo Political Science Writing Award was established at his retirement.
