Student-athletes named to football academic team

NDSU had four players named to the Missouri Valley Football Conference All-Academic Team. The list, voted on by the league’s sports information directors, was announced April 28.

NDSU linebackers Jackson Hankey and James Kaczor were selected to the first team, and tight end Noah Gindorff and punter Garret Wegner made the second team.

Hankey, a 2019 CoSIDA Academic All-America honoree, has a 3.865 grade-point average in agricultural economics. Kaczor, a 2019 second team MVFC All-Academic pick, has a 3.787 GPA in manufacturing engineering.

Gindorff has a 3.543 GPA majoring in accounting and Wegner has a 3.479 GPA in food science.

NDSU long snapper Ross Kennelly, fullback Hunter Luepke and defensive tackle Lane Tucker were honorable mentions to the MVFC All-Academic Team.
