SHARE

The first Human Progress and Flourishing Workshop is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 3, at noon in Beckwith Recital Hall. Bradley Campbell, professor of sociology at California State University, Los Angeles, is set to present “Social Justice, Sociology and Moral Humility.”

All members of the NDSU community and the public are invited to attend the free event. After the presentation, hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be served in the Challey School of Music Atrium.

Campbell’s research focuses on moral conflict and clashes of right and wrong. His recent work has examined conflicts over microaggressions, trigger warnings and free speech. He is the author of “The Geometry of Genocide: A Study in Pure Sociology” and co-author of “The Rise of Victimhood Culture: Microaggressions, Safe Space and the New Culture Wars.”

The Human Progress and Flourishing Workshop, which is hosted by the Challey Institute for Global Innovation and Growth, invites internationally-renowned scholars from universities across the country to present their research and engage with the NDSU community.

The series continues every other Friday through Dec. 3.

As a student-focused, land-grant, research university, we serve our citizens.
