Campus interviews have been scheduled with the three finalists for the NDSU dean of graduate and interdisciplinary studies position. Each also will give an online open forum presentation.

“This is an extremely important position for the university, and it’s vital that our campus community be involved in the selection process. The committee has worked very hard to bring three exceptional candidates to campus, and I encourage everyone to participate in the open forums and to provide their input,” said Jim Deal, search committee chair and interim dean of human sciences and education.

The first candidate, Susan Sell, associate dean for research and graduate studies and professor in the College of Health and Human Services at the University of North Carolina Charlotte, is set to give a 20-minute open forum presentation on Monday, Sept. 13, at 2 p.m., via Zoom. The presentation will be followed by a question and answer session.

Sell’s vita and cover letter can be viewed at the dean candidate information webpage.

Two additional Zoom sessions with Sell are scheduled. The sessions will be the same.

• Faculty Meeting I: Monday, Sept. 13, from 3:15 p.m. to 4 p.m.

• Faculty Meeting II: Tuesday, Sept. 14, from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

The search committee invites campus feedback of Sell’s campus interview via the online graduate dean candidate feedback survey. You are also welcome to reach out to any of the members of the search committee to voice your recommendations.

The other two finalists are scheduled to give open forums on these dates:

• Monica Lam, professor of accounting and information systems and former dean of business at the University of Central Oklahoma is set to present on Thursday, Sept. 16, at 2 p.m.

• Karin Bartoszuk, associate dean and professor in the School of Graduate Studies at East Tennessee State University, is set to present on Thursday, Sept. 23, at 2 p.m.

As a student-focused, land-grant, research university, we serve our citizens.
