Bison student-athlete earns Academic All-America honors

NDSU women’s track and field athlete Amanda Anderson has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America first team for Division I, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced June 21.

This is the first Academic All-America honor of Anderson’s career. The Bison women have now earned 20 Academic All-America honors in track and field and cross country since the Division I transition.

Anderson, who is from Bethel, Minnesota, has a 4.0 cumulative GPA as a physical education and health education major. She swept the Summit League’s indoor and outdoor titles in the shot put this season, and added her third consecutive conference title in the discus outdoor. She was named the Summit League Outdoor Championships Most Outstanding Performer.
