NDSU Student Government will host the first ever Bison 101 event Friday, Aug. 31, at 7 p.m., in the Fargodome, to teach students NDSU cheers and traditions before the football home opener Sept. 1.

“This rally is going to be a chance for all of us to get together as students to celebrate what it means to be a Bison, and to get excited for the year ahead,” said Student Body President Luke Brodeur. “It’s centered around the start of another great football season, but it means a lot more than that. It’s about helping all students feel a personal connection to our university.”

Students attending Bison 101 will hear from NDSU President Dean L. Bresciani, Brodeur and head football coach Craig Bohl. The NDSU Dance and Cheer teams will perform, and 2012 Yell Leaders Jayme McGillis and Eric Miller will teach cheers and chants.

Bison 101 was initiated by Brodeur and Student Body Vice President Jace Beehler and organized by Student Government.
