Airline economics research to be published

John Bitzan, NDSU associate professor of management, recently had his manuscript, “U.S. Air Carriers and Work-Rule Constraints – Do Airlines Employ an Allocatively Efficient Mix of Inputs?” accepted for publication in Research in Transportation Economics’ special issue on pricing and regulation in the airline industry.

Research in Transportation Economics is a journal devoted to economics research in the field of transportation. The content covers a wide range of topics relating to the economic aspects of transportation, government transportation regulatory policies and issues facing industry planners.

Bitzan earned a bachelor’s degree at St. Cloud State University, a master’s degree in applied economics at Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wis., and a doctorate in economics at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
