The Indigenous Wisdom in Nursing (I-WIN) Scholarships

The Indigenous Wisdom in Nursing (I-WIN) scholarships are designed to provide scholarship support for qualified students pursuing a degree in nursing at North Dakota State University. The scholarship program supports the overall objective to increase the number of American Indian students in nursing to provide health care services for underserved and/or rural populations. It is funded by HRSA’s Nursing Workforce Diversity grant, D19HP26974.

For each academic year, the NDSU School of Nursing will award successfully enrolled nursing students up to $10,000 in tuition assistance to cover tuition, fees, books and up to $10,000 in living stipends for individuals meeting the program and grant requirements. These awards are determined based on a financial need and must meet satisfactory academic progress as defined by NDSU to qualify. In addition to financial funding, the I-WIN Program offers access to mentorship for nursing and pre-nursing students, academic support, including tutoring, and a supportive environment that honors cultural identity as a valued element of learning, health care and university resources.
