Nurse Blake to give NDSU presentation

The NDSU Student Nurses’ Association, Campus Attractions and the Nursing Students’ Association of North Dakota are set to host a special presentation by “Nurse Blake” Monday, Sept. 16, at 7 p.m. at NDSU’s Sanford Health Athletic Complex.

Blake Lynch, a registered nurse who earned his bachelor’s degree in nursing at the University of Central Florida, is a popular YouTube and social media instructor who addresses a variety of topics geared for nurses and nursing students. He is known for his lively, entertaining and informative presentations.

“Nurse Blake has become a very popular social media influence that medical professionals can both be inspired by and get a good laugh out of his YouTube videos,” said junior Courtney Lock, president of the NDSU Student Nurses' Association. “My hope is that those who attend this event leave feeling inspired by Nurse Blake.”

Lynch has more than 411,000 followers on Instagram and over 650,000 followers on Facebook. He is the founder of Banned4Life, a movement that worked to overturn the Food and Drug Administration ban against gay men donating blood. Lynch also is a creative director for nurse.org, which publishing thought-provoking content that impacts the lives of nurses and nursing students.

The doors are scheduled to open at 6 p.m., the talk is set to begin at 7 p.m., and a meet and greet is scheduled for 8 p.m.

The event is free to NDSU students with their student ID, and the public can purchase tickets online for $10. Online purchasers are asked to bring a copy of their ticket confirmation with them to the presentation.
