Distance and Continuing Education and Cooperative Education credits are NOT covered under the tuition cap.  Tuition for these credits is always assessed on a per credit basis.

In order to determine whether or not your class is not covered by the tuition cap, you should look at the location code under the class details.

  1. Distance and Continuing Education Credits
    Courses offered through the Distance and Continuing Education (DCE/DE/CE) department are billed at the North Dakota Resident Rate. These courses are not covered under the tuition cap and are not eligible for NDSU tuition waivers. Location code = NOT Capped.
  2. Cooperative Education Credits
    Courses with a location code of “Cooperative Education” are not covered by the tuition cap and are not eligible to be paid by NDSU tuition waivers. Registration for Cooperative Education credits must be completed through the NDSU Career Center. Location code = NOT Capped.
