Federal Work-Study and Other Student Employment
Employment helps reduce students' indebtedness and provides valuable job experience. Studies show working helps students budget their time and has a positive effect on their grades and attitude toward school. The number of hours students work depends on their class schedule, the needs of the employer, and, if awarded Federal Work-Study, the amount of the Federal Work-Study award. A maximum of 15 to 20 hours a week is recommended for full-time students.
