The Office of Teaching and Learning will be hosting a faculty teaching fellow for the 2022-23 academic year. The fellow position is a leadership and professional development opportunity. The program is open to faculty at the rank of associate professor or higher (tenured or non-tenured) in any discipline.
Faculty teaching fellows will provide support and leadership with teaching and learning in collaboration with the director of the Office of Teaching and Learning to advance a culture of learning improvement at NDSU. Fellows will:
- Develop knowledge and skills in promoting student learning,
- Develop instructional materials that can support improvement of student learning at NDSU,
- Share instructional expertise to support use of best practices in NDSU classes, and
- Provide guidance to the director and staff of the Office of Teaching and Learning.
Selected faculty will serve from August 15, 2022, to May 12, 2023, and will contribute approximately 100 hours during this time period. Summer hours may be available as appropriate.
The Office of the Teaching and Learning will either provide a $5,000 supplement (1) directly to the Faculty Teaching Fellow or (2) provide the Faculty Teaching Fellow’s academic home department with the same amount for the individual’s use, such as for course release, professional development, graduate assistant support, travel, research funds, etc.
