Dr. Adam Hollingsworth serves concurrently as the director of instrumental music at the North Dakota State College of Science and as an adjunct instructor in music education at North Dakota State University. Previously, he has worked as the assistant director of the NDSU Gold Star Marching Band and taught band and general music for grades K-12 in rural Minnesota. In addition, he has worked as a school principal.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in music education and trumpet performance from the University of Minnesota, Morris, where he studied trumpet and conducting with Dr. James Carlson and Dr. Kenneth Hodgson, and a Master of Arts in music education from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, where he studied with Dr. Paul Haack, Dr. David Teachout, and Prof. Jerry Luckhardt. Hollingsworth completed a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at North Dakota State University, where he studied with Dr. Warren Olfert. In addition to his responsibilities at NDSCS, Dr. Hollingsworth enjoys working throughout the area as a clinician, guest conductor, and adjudicator.

When he’s not busy directing a band or teaching a class, he loves spending time with his wife and their five sons.
