Music Festivals for High School Students

The North Dakota State University Division of Performing Arts is pleased to offer a number of performance festivals for high school students.

29th Annual High School Choral Festival

October 8-9, 2017

This long-standing event is an opportunity for choirs to work with NDSU music faculty and perform at an evening concert.

FM Honor Jazz Ensemble

November 28, 2017

The FM Honor Jazz Ensemble includes students in grades 9-12 enrolled inrespective band programs from Moorhead, Park Christian, Fargo North, Fargo South, Davies, Oak Grove, Shanley, West Fargo, and Sheyenne high schools.The goal is to help enhance the jazz experience for instrumentalists in the FM area. Auditions will take place November 8 and 9 at NDSU. The ensemble will rehearse Nov. 26 and 27 with a concert on Nov. 28 with the NDSU Jazz Ensembles in Festival Concert Hall. NDSU High School Invitational Jazz Festival

February 9-10, 2018

The High School Invitational Jazz Festival features the top jazz ensembles from throughout the region. The festival oftens features two performers in the industry who spend the day working with students prior to the evening's performance.

Women's Choral Festival

February 16, 2018

The NDSU Women's Choral Festival is an opportunity for female vocalists to showcase their talents. The day culminates with a performance that often features additional regional choirs.

March 6-7, 2018
An opportunity for bands in grades 6-12 to perform at NDSU, participate in clinics, and received adjudication comments by professional music educators.
