Symposia

NDSU Choral Symposium: Contemporary Composition in America

This three day symposium in October 2015 will featured noted composer Eric Whitacre as well as Cantus, a Twin Cities based ensemble that has performed throughout the world. Composers, students, educators and more are invited to attend.

   

NDSU Chamber Music Festival

The inaugural NDSU Chamber Music Festival will feature the talents of our piano studio as they study and perform with some of the region's top string performers. Sessions and concerts are free and open to the public.

Fissinger Choral Composition Prizes Announced

The NDSU Challey School of Music is proud to open the annual Fissinger Choral Composition Prizes. Due on June 1,2015, the prizes were established several years ago to honor choral composer Edwin Fissinger.

   

Weber Brings Statesmen to Bismarck

Presenting a concert highlighting a variety of themes in American choral music, the NDSU Statesmen performed at the North Dakota Music Educator’s Association State Conference in Bismarck, ND. The Statesmen of NDSU performed under the direction of Michael Weber.

   

Orff Schulwerk, Level 1 Offered Summer 2015

The Challey School of Music, in partnership with Distance and Continuing Education, is proud to offer an introduction to the basic Orff methodolgy of teaching. Guest instructors include Paul Weller, Julie Blakeslee, and Dr. Kate Webster. Organized by Dr. Charlette Moe, the class is offered June 29 - July 10 at NDSU.
