University Symphony Orchestra Fall 2016 Auditions
Auditions for the University Symphony Orchestra will be on Tuesday, August 23 (all strings) and Wednesday, August 24 (woodwinds and brass) from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. in the Music Education Room 118 in the Reineke Fine Arts Center. Students may sign up for a time by clicking on the respective link below:

Please bring a 2-minute prepared work that shows lyrical and technical examples of your playing. In addition, please be prepared to perform selected orchestral excerpts on your respective instrument. Click here for required audition excerpts by instrument.
The first rehearsal of the University Symphony Orchestra will be on Tuesday, August 30 at 7:00 p.m. in Music Education Room 118.

Wind Symphony Fall 2016 Auditions
Auditions for Wind Symphony will take place on Thursday and Friday, August 25 and 26. Those interested in playing in the Wind Symphony should sign up online for an audition time for their instrument. You may got to http://bit.ly/WSAuditions for an audition time. Be sure you sign up for the correct instrument!
If you are unable to audition during the listed time, you may make arrangements with the faculty member in question.
Once auditions are completed, we will try to post the personnel list by late Friday, August 28. Rehearsals begin on Monday, August 29, at 12:15 p.m.
Wind Symphony Rehearsals are MWF 12:15-1:50 p.m.
Plans for this year include:
- Tour in the fall semester: October 27-November 1. Concerts are set in Brainerd, Buffalo and Mounds View (with the Minnesota Symphonic Winds).
- Brazilian percussionist/composer Ney Rosauro as a guest artist in April.
- Plenty of great music on each concert!

The NDSU Challey School of Music is proud to open the annual Fissinger Choral Composition Prizes. Due on June 1, 2016, the prizes were established several years ago to honor choral composer Edwin Fissinger.
