July 18, 2011

The North Dakota State University Concert Choir, under the direction of University Distinguished Professor Dr. Jo Ann Miller, has been selected to perform at the North Central American Choir Directors Association Conference (ACDA), February 8-11, 2012 in Madison, Wisconsin.

“The NDSU Concert Choir is honored to have been selected to perform at the North Central American Choral Directors Association conference,” said Dr. Miller.  “Performing for several hundred choral conductors and singers in the beautiful new Overture Center in Madison will be a thrill for the choir.”

North Central ACDA region includes North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Wisconsin.  The top choirs from each state audition to participate in the conference and only fourteen choirs were selected.

The NDSU Concert Choir has a rich and distinguished tradition of performing the highest quality choral literature at the highest level of artistry.  The choir has performed at state, regional and national music conferences, most recently at the national ACDA conference in San Antonio.  The choir performs regularly with the Fargo Moorhead Symphony Orchestra and tours overseas every three years.   Choir members are from all majors at NDSU and more than two-thirds are music majors.   The 66-voice choir rehearses daily and performs several concerts a year on campus in addition to annual spring tours.  The NDSU Concert Choir has produced more than 30 recordings.
