Theatre NDSU presents “The Christians”

March 22, 2016

Theatre NDSU, the production company at North Dakota State University, presents Lucas Hnath’s award-winning play The Christians at Askanase Auditorium on April 21-23, 27, 29 and 30. The troupe will also present a special one-night performance on April 28 at First Lutheran Church in Fargo, followed by a community discussion of the play. All performances begin at 7:30 p.m.

The play portrays an evolving schism within a modern-day megachurch. Twenty years ago, Pastor Paul’s church was nothing more than a modest storefront. Now he presides over a congregation of thousands, but Paul is about to preach a sermon that will shake the foundations of his church’s belief. The Christians is a play about faith in America—and the trouble with changing your mind.

Tickets for the show range from $8 to $15 and are available through the NDSU Box Office at (701) 231-7969 or online at www.ndsu.edu/performingarts. A special ticket rate of $5 will be available at the door for the performance on April 28 at First Lutheran Church.
