Celebrate the Career of Dr. Andrew Froelich

For the past 43 years, Andrew Froelich has mentored piano students at North Dakota State University. Thousands of students have participated in his studio and classes, and many have become successful and well known musicians throughout the country.
Andy has long been an active participant in the musical life of Fargo and Moorhead, presenting numerous solo piano and chamber music recitals here and in guest appearances nationally. He has been the keyboardist for the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony from 1972-2012 and as been featured as soloist with the orchestra on several different occasions. His first conducting responsibility was for the Fargo Moorhead Area Youth Symphony. Beginning in 1980 with a Little Country Theatre production of “Gypsy,” Andy embarked on a secondary career as conductor/music director for over 90 productions in the F-M area. In this capacity he has worked with the FM Community Theatre, Trollwood Performing Arts School, the FM Community Opera, the NDSU Repertory Theatre, the Theatre Department at Minnesota State University Moorhead, the Red River Dance Company, and from 1991-2005 he served as music director for the Straw Hat Players at MSUM.
Originally from Cleveland Heights, Ohio, Andy received his undergraduate degree from the Cleveland Institute of
Music and his graduate degrees from Michigan State University.
