Nick Albrecht is an actor, singer, director, and an Assistant Professor of Performing Arts at NDSU. He teaches private voice for the musical theatre majors as well as Acting the Song and Development of Musical Theatre. He received his M.F.A. in Acting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. During his time at UNCG, and the years following, Nick has worked as an actor and director for theatres around the country including; Triad Stage, Great Plains Theatre, Nebraska Shakespeare, Bluebarn Theatre, Cortland Repertory Theatre, Post Playhouse, and Omaha Playhouse.

Prior to NDSU, Nick served as Director of Theatre and Assistant Professor of Theatre at College of Saint Mary in Omaha, Nebraska. At CSM, he taught The Art of Theatre, Shakespeare in Performance, History of Dramatic Literature, The Theatre of Change, Communication for Professionals, and Theatrical Production. Also at CSM, Nick directed productions of Almost, Maine, A Piece of my Heart, and The Odd Couple (female version).

Nick is a member of VASTA (Voice and Speech Teachers Association), SAFD (Society of American Fight Directors), SETC (Southeastern Theatre Conference), and EMC, the Equity Membership Candidacy program through AEA (Actor’s Equity Association).
