Maack elected ASHP section chair

Brody Maack, PharmD, BCACP, CTTS, was elected Chair of the American Society of Health System Pharmacists Section of Ambulatory Care Practitioners. Maack will provide leadership to the Section Executive Committee, along with guidance and advice to ASHP on ways to better meet the day-to-day practice needs of members. The term of service encompasses three years.

Maack (PharmD '06) is vice chair and associate professor in the NDSU School of Pharmacy, as well as a clinical pharmacy specialist at Family HealthCare Pharmacy, NDSU, which assists underserved populations.

In addition, NDSU’s Blue Key National Honor Society previously recognized Maack with its ‘Doctor of Service’ award for his service to NDSU and the state of North Dakota.

In 2021, the North Dakota Pharmacists Association awarded Maack the Excellence in Innovation Award which demonstrates innovation and entrepreneurship in the practice of pharmacy, resulting in improved patient care.

Maack was inducted into the NDSU Tapestry of Inclusion in 2020. The designation recognized his contributions to support diversity at NDSU.

He also serves as a CAP Center scientist in the Center for Collaboration and Advancement in Pharmacy at NDSU.  Dr. Maack’s expertise includes clinical program design and implementation, with coursework in cardiology and tobacco cessation. His research interests include pharmacy practice innovation and implementation, tobacco cessation and chronic disease prevention and treatment.

With faculty members who are leaders in their field, the NDSU School of Pharmacy offers pathways of opportunity to pursue an array of pharmacy careers. Degree programs offered include PharmD, as well as dual degrees in PharmD/MPH, PharmD/MBA, PharmD/PhD and master’s and doctorate degrees in pharmaceutical sciences.
