Update from Provost Fitzgerald

CHANGES TO OUR FACE COVERING POLICY

As announced previously, masks will no longer be required. However, the following rules will continue to be in effect:

  1. Every person should be comfortable continuing to wear a mask at their personal discretion and should not face any pressure to discontinue mask usage.
  2. Faculty may require masks to be worn in their classes at their discretion.
  3. Health care operations on campus, including Student Health Service, will continue to be able to mandate masks in accordance with regular health care protocols.

SIGNAGE ABOUT MASKS

Revised signage, consistent with CDC guidelines and the mask optional status, will soon be available from University Relations.

OTHER SAFETY MEASURES

Plexiglas barriers and hand sanitizer stations will remain in place. Facilities Management Director Mike Ellingson also discussed the air handling and filtration improvements that were made to all buildings last summer, and those upgrades remain in place.

RETURNING TO CAMPUS

Employees are expected to be back on campus.  The guidelines in place prior to the pandemic apply to flexible work locations. Please discuss with your supervisor if you have questions or concerns, or contact Human Resources at ndsu.hr@ndsu.edu.

We are not asking for protected health information, but all in our community are encouraged to be vaccinated if they are able.
