How did the NDSU MPH prepare you for the workforce?

I work professionally in a state management position as the Women’s Veterans Coordinator for the ND Dept. of Veterans Affairs, advocating for underserved veteran populations such as women, minorities, highly rural, LBGTQ. My degree assists me in understanding the disparities that face marginalized populations, the necessities in building communities, and why community based advocacy is essential. 

Current position and Academic Pursuit

Currently serve in a state position as Women’s Veterans Coordinator for the ND Dept. of Veterans Affairs and pursuing a PhD in Sociology at SDSU.

How are you impacting the health of North Dakotans? 

Targeting veteran populations in a multi-faceted approach though direct advocacy through health care, policy, benefits, education as well as and community partnership to improve the position of veterans.
