Cherokee Durant, MPH

Graduate Student
University of North Dakota
Grand Forks, ND

I'm originally from Ada, Oklahoma and I received my bachelor degree in biology from Mayville State University in 2017.

NDSU Specialization

Management of Infectious Diseases

How did the NDSU MPH prepare you for the workforce?

My experience at NDSU MPH prepared me by giving me the opportunities to study how infectious diseases spread and strategies to help prevent disease outbreaks and promote health for the community and the world.

Current academic pursuit

I'm currently pursuing a PhD in Indigenous Health at the University of North Dakota.

How are you impacting the health of your region?

I hope to help North Dakota to support health equity for everyone and protect them from diseases. I hope to achieve this goal beyond North Dakota and the Midwest region too.
