Dr. Laam serves as a professor of practice for NDSU DPH and a biostatistician for the Center for Biobehavioral Research at Sanford Health.  Prior to joining NDSU and Sanford, Dr. Laam worked for 15 years in healthcare to improve safety and quality of patient care, evaluate team and organizational safety culture, and consult leadership on data-driven operational decision-making.  Dr. Laam has presented at national and international conferences for various organizations, including the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, the American Nursing Association, and the Dartmouth Microsystem Academy.
