Kiranpreet Gill is a second year MPH student specializing in the Community Health Sciences track.

As a future public health professional, Kiranpreet understands the need to help stop COVID-19 from further spreading. Her goal is to implement educational opportunities across campuses for students who plan to travel. This includes, but is not limited to, travel over the summer, returning home for breaks, and holidays.

Kiranpreet proposed and implemented a website and Twitter page that includes necessary information for students on COVID-19, student travel, and vaccines.

According to Kiranpreet, “Quality prevention is the goal through this project to help reduce covid positive rates occurring from travel amongst NDSU students.”

The goal is also to develop a baseline for public health education of coronavirus in university/college settings, ultimately to improve response to outbreaks and to mitigate the impact of the pandemic on university students.
