Availability and life span

Tulips are available from November to May and they have a life span of 3-7 days.

 

Types of Tulips

There is three types of tulips, which is determined by their time of bloom.

Early Flowering Tulips

Bloom from March to early April. Some examples include Red Emperor, Waterlily, and Greigii Tulips.

Midseason Flowering Tulips

Bloom in April and early May. Some examples include Swan Wings Tulips, Parrot Tulips,and Darwin Hybrids.

Later Flowering Tulips

Bloom in the month of May. Some examples include Rembrandt Tulips and Fringed Tulips.

 

Minor Planting and Maintenance Tips

For idea cultivation of tulip plants, a well-drained, airy, loamy soil is recommended. Watering is required after planting whether it be in the early spring or fall.

Take proper precautions in protecting flower beds from small animals. Such as, using fencing and weather stripping wisely.

Tulip is the national flower of Turkey.

Tulips are thought to be a token of a perfect lover, passion, love, declaration of love, romance, fame, charity and dreaminess.
