Welcome to the homepage of Dr. Benjamin D. Braaten at North Dakota State University, Fargo ND. We specialize in phased array antennas, conformal antennas, antenna designs for RFID, electromagnetic interference (EMI), computational electromagnetics, antennas in complex radiation environments and metamaterial-based antenna designs.

Some of our latest work (updated 8/28/15):

Recently we have been collaborating with Dr. Ewert's biomedical engineering group at NDSU on an implantable battery-less and wireless pacemaker system. The above picture is a prototype electrode with a printed antenna, power harvesting circuit and a microprocessor (under the antenna). The electrode operates at 1.2 GHz and the enclosure was manufactured using a 3D printer.
