Notebook

60 pts.

You will complete an assortment of short exercises, in-class writing, quizzes, Blackboard postings, brief small-group projects, writing prompts, excursions outside the classroom, and any number of mysterious and challenging something-somethings. Expect the unexpected.

Daily work of this sort is generally worth about 1-2 pts. each, and is kept stored in your notebook. You need to conscientiously date and title each item.

Also included in your notebook will be four projects (more extensive exercises) designed to give you practice with a variety of skills and approaches. You will complete the following:

Fiction Project (20 pts.)

Short story with traditional, chronological plot and continuous narrative, at least 5 pages. OR a screenplay, with a traditional, chronological plot, at least 10 pages. Click here for full instructions.
