Writer's Link Report

The purpose of this assignment is to help you discover the great wealth of resources available to creative writers--journals you might submit work to, writer's festivals and colonies, tips on publishing, etc.

Instructions

Go to the Writer's Link and begin exploring widely. Look in particular, of course, at "Resources for Creative Writers" and the handy links at the bottom of the first page.

In particular, you should find and thoroughly explore Poets & Writer's Inc. You must also be sure to see "Journals and Magazines Online," "Poets.org," and AWP's site.

After a thorough investigation, write a 2-3 page report, typed and double-spaced, explaining what you found. Name specific resources along with the kinds of help you found. Explain also how the site assisted you and may likely assist you in the future.

Use traditional essay format: introduction, body, conclusion. Provide focused, developed paragraphs. Edit for clarity and concision and proofread your work. STAPLE all materials, and use MLA manuscript format. (Go to Bedford St. Martin's Research and Documentation Online. Click on "Humanities," "Sample MLA Paper," etc. and explore around. Everything you need to know about manuscript format is there.)

Due date: April 15/16, in hardcopy.
