I am originally from Warroad, Minnesota. I earned my undergraduate degree at Gustavus Adolphus College and received my doctorate from Washington State University.
Having grown up in northern Minnesota (as opposed to southern Minnesota which is much warmer and more populated), I am a high school and college hockey fan. My favorite college hockey teams include the University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux (yes, I realize that's slightly heretical for a NDSU employee), the Bemidji State Beavers and, of course, the Gustavus Adolphus Gusties. I have two young children, so I have a very limited amount time for hobbies. However, I still find a little time for running and an occasional hike.
My wife (Angie) and I live in South Fargo with our son Jayden and our daughter Holly. Before coming to NDSU, I was a faculty member in business schools at Gonzaga University (in Spokane, WA), Weber State University (in Ogden, UT) and the University of Southern Indiana (in Evansville, IN).
