Eastern clouded grasshopper

Adults

  • Fastigum with triangular depression wider than long.
  • Pronotum cut by one sulcus.
    • Pronotum with 90o posterior angle.
  • Tegmen crossed by dark bands.
  • Hindwing clear with outer 1/3 fuscous.
  • Hind tibia brown with whitish basal ring.
Nymphs
  • Eye spotted rather than banded.
  • Pronotum with distinct dorsal and lateral carinae.
  • Fore and mid- femur with four ridges (carinae) near apex on outer face.
  • Differs from E. costalis only in shape of fastigum and pronotal wedge markings.
